Can someone explain what happens when you immediately go back into the house at the start of the game? I left the house and went back in and I'm not able to do anything anymore plus the screen is just blurry.
I realized this video is now outdated, as I recorded it in advance. Blah.
But still fun nonetheless. I played the first one and very much enjoyed it.. This is a huge improvement. I will need to pick up a newer version as time goes on, as it seems like it is constantly being updated.
I found a bug in Act 2, after the police station I just went home instead of the correct location and the game crashes when you try to open your front door. (hope this can be of help)
Ooh good one! We’ll get that fixed asap. We definately want you to be able to go whereever you want as things do change over time! Thanks for playing and sharing as well 😊
Huzzah! Went back to Act One to see what was updated in the first Act then rolled into the second Act!
..this was also recorded way before the major update to Act Two happened. Looking forward to Act Three so I can go back to Two and check out the updates! Thanks for creating this series! Been having a lot of fun with them!
Wow thanks Pa-Sama! That is awesome feedback, very grateful for your very kind words. We have some more planned extensions for Act2 in prep for Act 3 and then will get stuck into it. Can’t wait! Glad you have been enjoying them to date :)
If I may ask, how many endings are there to this game? I've had it end at 3 different points in the story's progression as I was playing it; perhaps 2 of them were premature endings?
Hi DeletedUser86. We are extending it further again and bringing the world to life a bit more before we hit Act 3 for the final showdown. Currently there are 2 official endings (there was a bug that allowed a 3rd previously), but we will be putting a few more in before we move on. Similar outcomes though so it makes sense leading into the final act and doesn’t matter which one you go through unless you want to experience other story branches. Hope that helps!
Played both acts in one video, had a lot of fun with both. I'm a sucker for point and click games, so this was great. Specially loved being able to move around the town a bit in act 2. Would love some more puzzles but they're both fun to play as it is. Can't wait for act 3!
Thanks YeenaGames! Very entertaining playthroughs, really enjoyed watching your reactions and have taken some notes on small changes to improve things based on some of the goings on I witnessed here :) Really appreciate your support!
Hi Confidentt. That is so generous but really not necessary. We don’t have Patreon and have just been having fun with this project. Everyone has been so supportive. We have had a fantastic response to Act2 after our jam entry, and we are happy to put more work into it, extend it, improve it and finish off with an even bigger and better final act. Thanks so much for your interest and support, it means the world to us!
Thanks so much for playing and supporting our games EB2807, it means so much to us. Working hard on a major update to the second act atm getting it ready for the act3 setting.
Thank you for playing and sharing MamaFraha, really appreciate it. Act3 work will start in earnest after some big updates to Act2, and we cannot confirm or deny there will be a good ending 😀
Loved your playthrough and commentary Althegamer, thanks so much for sharing and supporting us! Big update to Act2 coming very soon before we hit the final act! Hope you can play the next one too 😊
Thanks for supporting the game with your playthrough SabrinaVampirschi, I really hope your viewers enjoyed that as much as we did. Big update coming soon and onto the final act 🎬
I'm a bit confused about the ending(?) of this one. The videos linked in the comments show the phone booth as the ending of the game, but when I escaped from the prison I ran straight to the police station and she was standing outside in her normal clothes. The first time, I walked near her and got stabbed. The second time, I went inside of the station and couldn't say anything to them about the killer or what happened to me. I went home, to the crime scene, to Vanessa's house, and eventually just went and intentionally got killed at the station because I didn't see any other way to end the game. I couldn't go to the phone booth after going to the station and getting my car.
I think that the game would benefit from having restrictions on where you can go after escaping. I'm assuming that the phone booth and the station kills are the official endings, but having the ability to go inside the station and to everywhere else in the game doesn't make sense after escaping. The killer doesn't stop you from entering the station, she only stops you if you click on a random spot in the area. You can just walk right in front of her and she doesn't say a word, and you don't have the option to say anything about her to the clerk. I also tried to talk to the cops at the crime scene, but obviously couldn't.
The game would also benefit from 1) A save or autosave function and 2) a "game over" screen for premature deaths that's different from the ending, with text that makes it clear that the game doesn't actually end there. In my first playthrough, I died right after getting Vanessa Smith's address by walking out of the police station and then clicking on a random spot instead of my car. I would have assumed that you couldn't actually get in the car and progress further if it wasn't for the comments that implied I hadn't seen everything in the game.
Regardless, it's a really cool game with a great art style! I'm looking forward to your future games. :)
Fantastic feedback, hugely appreciated. I have a major update coming next week that will address some of these issues, improving and extending the game, and breathing more life into the city and its occupants. Keep an eye out for it and let me know if it addresses your points thanks Ali’s 😊
Yes! I'd love to play again if the benefits you mentioned are addressed. If I hadn't seen these comments with information that I didn't discover yet, I'd have had no idea this game is longer than a couple of minutes like the first one (unless it also was longer and I didn't realize it). I thought dying was the end of the game.
I replayed this one and got further than the first time, but now replaying it yet again to hopefully make a better choice next time around is something I'm not sure I want to do. A save or autosave before you die so you can begin where you left off would be super helpful.
I'm enjoying this game a lot. I'm not usually one for jumpscares, but these are relatively small (and not first-person). The story is very compelling, and the art style is one of my favorites.
Thanks Pawdeen! Very funny commentary I really like your content 😊 Thanks for playing and sharing. I took lots of notes and will make a bunch of minor improvements on the back of your playthrough.
i think you need to make the phone booth only "clickable" when you exit the hole, because on the first run i went straight to the phone boot and got killed :(
Was a real pleasant surprise to randomly see an Act Two when I was browsing the 2D/Horror tag. Hope to see things continue further. 👍 Just one thing, you can finish the game without realizing immediately after you get in your car if you travel to the last location. 😅
Really glad to see the second act of this point n' click hit so soon after the first one - and can't wait for Act 3! In the second part of this series, we get to see more of Point Click, whilst investigating the atrocious events from the first game. I really enjoyed taking on the role of Detective Clarke, visiting locations in town, and seeing 'Vanessa' pop up in several of the areas...
Would love to see more of the residents of Point Click as the area opens up to the player - this town could really have a 'Twin Peaks' vibe going on, but really enjoy the universe that's being created here. The artwork is especially something to mention and
A few critique notes that would be great to see in future instalments:
Think the map should have highlighted places of interest for the player once they have been opened up - whether the houses are highlighted or a tooltip that allows the player to see exactly where they need to go would help 'pixel hunting' escapades. Might even be great to have locations that don't offer any 'clues' to the player but creates additional lore to the town?
Great to see an inventory system as the first act didn't really have this - but was a little perplexed as to why the detective couldn't use his toolkit? Would have been awesome to conduct some analysis at the crime scene or use the toolkit for a puzzle or two.
Speaking about puzzles, think there could be more elaborate scope with this: the numbers for the code could have been found by the player rather than the detective saying it to them; could have used a mechanic with the toolkit in a location, etc.
But these are minor quibbles to an otherwise glorious game. Hope we get to find out more in the third act!
This is shockingly good feedback Mr Selfy. Really appreciate your critique notes and will take them on board. I might even patch Act2 to cater for future players. Appreciate your time and support! Very funny playthrough and commentary too 🤣 Thanks for playing 😊
